Chris Coleman

Chris began his career in menswear in London’s West End during the 1960s, working for renowned names like Lord John, Cecil Gee, and Take 6. With London at the cutting edge of fashion and the industry full of vibrant personalities, Chris quickly learned the ropes, becoming a skilled salesman. After years of working for others, he decided to start his own business and, in 1983, secured the location at 71 Moorgate. As he often says, the first 15 years were an apprenticeship, filled with challenges and valuable lessons. His extensive experience and straightforward approach have earned him a loyal clientele who continually return to Copperfield.

To this day, Chris opens the shop at 9am, sharing his stories while selling suits. A true legend.

Dean Coleman

Dean joined Copperfield in the summer of 2015, after leaving his City desk job of 15 years. Having always been involved in the family business, he often worked in the shop during school holidays. From the start, Dean faced significant challenges, including relocating the shop, expanding the alterations service, and introducing a Made-to-Measure offering.

Learning from the best—his father—Dean has developed his own approach and has even earned a loyal client base, some of whom transitioned from Chris to him.

Copperfield has grown into a bustling shop with clients from around the world. With increasingly individualised customer demands, organisation is key. That's why you’ll often find Dean behind the counter, diary and laptop open, keeping everything running smoothly.
